Vitamin C- A must-have Summer and morning skincare

What’s you summer skincare BFF? Undoubtedly, sunscreen! However, Vitamin C is your other summer skin care BFF. It is a potent antioxidant that is a perfect summer skin care ingredient that you need to add in your skin care routine.

People tend to develop more dark spots during summer due to strong sunlight. In line with this, Vitamin C blocks the effects of Tyrosinase. Tyrosinase is an enzyme that is responsible for the production of melanin in the skin. Moreover, Vitamin c reduces the oxidation of existing pigment hence preventing it from getting darker. Therefore, Vitamin c prevents dark spots formation and fixes them after.

We all know that SPF is very essential during summer season. However, it is not the be-al, end-all solution. Vitamin C is a good pair of SPF. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that neutralize free radicals hence adds an extra layer protection. In addition to that, it strengthens skin cells by mainly fighting the environmental aggressors that gives sun damage in the skin. To conclude, vitamin C is not an alternative to sunscreen albeit a great pair to boost SPF’s effectiveness and minimize the damage that our eyes can’t see.

Vitamin C also play a vital role in the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein that keeps our skin smooth. When applied topically, vitamin C stimulates the production of collagen which helps reduce wrinkles, plump skin, and also increases skin’s firmness.

Our precious skin undergoes an aging process that is normally affected by environmental factors that can hasten skin damage through free radical stress. Unfortunately, our bodies do not naturally produce C, so we must take vitamin C supplement, eat vitamin C rich foods , and add topical vitamin c skin care to maximize benefits.
